What is Give in Celebration?

Give in Celebration is a positive and unique way of celebrating a special occasion while supporting Cancer Research UK's life-saving work.

So rather than receiving presents at your event, you can ask guests to make a donation to the charity. They can donate via the website, by phone or by cheque.

The money we receive will help our scientists find new ways of preventing and treating cancer.

Why not set up a Give in Celebration page today? It's quick, easy and secure to do.

By following our simple instructions you'll be able to create a page that is personal to you. You can then email all your friends and family to invite them to visit the page, and make a donation in honour of your event.

What can I do on a Give in Celebration page?

When creating a page you can:

  • write your own message about your celebration. This will be displayed to everyone visiting the page
  • add your own photo(s) or select one of ours
  • choose to display the total amount donated
  • choose to display a list of donors.

You can also download or order donation slips requesting guests to make a donation instead of giving presents. These can be placed at your event or inserted in your invitations.

Our checklist provides you with a list of all the information you need to create a page. You can download the checklist (PDF) here.

How long does it take to create a page?

It should only take about 10 minutes to create your page. The process is broken down into five simple steps.

Once you have completed your page it will be submitted to us for authorisation. Our aim is, where possible, to publish your page within two working days and we will let you know as soon as it is ready.

Please note that Cancer Research UK retains full editorial control over the material published on this website and may edit or remove content when it is deemed appropriate to do so.

How do I tell my guests about my page?

Simply log into your administration area to email your guests using our email tool. You can also request or download printed donation slips to include with your invitations, or to hand out at your event, so that your guests can make a donation in lieu of gifts.

How do my guests donate?

There are three ways that your family and friends can make a donation:

  • donate online using a credit or debit card
  • contact our Supporter Services team on 020 7121 6698 and donate using a credit or debit card
  • send us a cheque with a completed donation slip

Can I change the page later?

Once your page is published you can use the admin area to change:

  • your message
  • send more emails to friends and family
  • view messages that friends may have left
  • extend the length of time that the page stays published
  • close the page altogether
  • change your password or email address.

What about security?

You will be using a secure connection to create your page and a password-protected account will be set up for you to make any changes.
